by Matthew Cooper
The Wrestling Observer Newsletter reported that WWE Vice President of Creative Writing Michael Hayes, who is the Lead Writer of Smackdown, was involved in an embarrassing public display recently. According to the Observer, Hayes' former "Freebird" teammates Buddy Roberts and Jimmy Garvin were brought to Stamford, Ct to shoot interviews for the upcoming WWE DVD release on the history of World Class Championship Wrestling. Hoping to copy the massive success of The Rise And Fall of ECW, the DVD is scheduled to present the good, the bad, and the ugly of the now-defunct Dallas-based promotion. The Observer reported, "after shooting,(Hayes, Garvin, and Roberts) went to a bar and grill in (WWE Headquarters' hometown) Stamford, where they reverted back to being Freebirds Observer editor Dave Meltzer reported that "t was a wild scene including someone pissing in Roberts' drink, and him not knowing it, and drinking it. The legend has it that was hardly the wildest thing that happened, but just before things got too out of hand, they realized it wasn't 1983 anymore and that Buddy is 60, Michael is 48, and Jimmy is 55, calmed down and agreed to leave"
